About Us
Textsound began in 2008 as a bi-annual online journal.
Anna Vitale invited Anya Cobler, Adam Fagin, and Laura Wetherington to curate a sound-based project.
Adam Fagin asked Raphael Motto to create the site, which would not exist without Raphe's knowledge. Similarly,
Ryan Hughes' technical expertise has been indispensable. The journal is now run through collaboration between
Anna Vitale and Laura Wetherington, with the addition of Jason Voss, sound-engineer, making Issue 10:
the Michyou Issue a new sort of collaboration where textsound recorded many of the poets at WCBN-FM Ann Arbor.
Our mission is to bring together a range of experimental soundworks from the U.S. and abroad.
We're in the process of expanding our website to include images and moving pictures, so while we're still publishing issues,
they're slowing down as we make room for this other work.
